Here are my thoughts.

The new color scheme reaks of web 2.0. I am not sure the type of numbers you were getting on old the site but I preferred the colors much more. The simplification of the site is better overall.

The color scheme for the application itself is pretty bad. I am just not feeling those colors overall they hurt my eyes with the number of shadows and gradients. Maybe it's just me but I preferred the bland old version better.

With that said I think the application looks more organized and functional. I just really hate the colors.
